What is reputation?

If you read a post that you like you can leave "kudos" to the person who posted it or if they're having a bad day it gives you a chance to give them a hug which will stay in their User CP for a while. It's very similar to the gifts we use to have, except this is directly connected to a post.

Your power to give reputation will grow with time based on how often you use it, your post count, amount of time you've been a member, and so on.

Smilie codes will also work if you just want to give a
To add a smilie to a reputation comment you need to know the code for the smilie. For example if you wanted to add a you would write : hug (without the space). There is no way of adding a smiling through the smilie list as you in a thread.

How do I leave reputation for another member?

All you have to do to leave someone reputation is hit the scales icon under that person's av next to the light which shows if they are currenly online this will bring up a box in which you write your comment in. After you have written your comment or added a smilie just click on the "add to reputation" button underneath the comment box and this will then add the comment to the members UserCP

How do I know if I have any reputation and how do I see what has been written?

There will be a green/grey rectangle under your username. If it's green then you've gotten reputation points. Also know that when people initially start using them, they may not have enough "reputation power" yet to effect your status by much.

Go to User CP, then scroll down as far as you can, under your thread subscriptions. They should be there in boxes. It will have what thread, the person who sent it, and their comment.

Adding pictures to a rep comment.

To add a picture to a rep comment you can use the IMG code from photobucket and paste that it to the comment box or you can take the URL of the image and add [IMG] before the URL and [/IMG] after the code so as an example the complete code would look similar to this

[#IMG]http://www.yourimageURLgoeshere.com/picture[/img] obviously you would not add the # in the code

Something to remember about adding pictures to a rep comment; please keep the images relatively small, so users do not have to scroll side to side to see the comment/image that has been left for them. As a guide use the max size of an avatar as the size of the image to be posted (300x300).

Please also refrain from posting pornographic images (no matter how mild they are or something that may offend others). We don't truely know most people on the boards and it is hard for us to know what people would get offened by, so when posting images please remember this. What you find amusing others may find offensive. Another thing to remember here is that we do have some members that are underage! Thank you considering these things before you post images

Thanks for the help. I do have a couple of questions. I notice on my reputation squares, some are a brighter green than the others...what does that mean? And I also noticed that in my user cp I have points accumulated....can you explain those? Thank you so much.

The brightness of the squares doesn't mean much to be honest Basically the more reps you get the more squares you get, and once you reach a certain amount of dull green squares you will then get bright ones. After the bright green squares they will go to all kinds of colours, but I don't think anyone is at that stage yet.

Each time you get given a rep comment you obtain points, the points vary from each person. If the person giving you a rep has a lot of reps you will get more points and if the person leaving you rep doesn't have many you won't get many points from them.

Corey did make a day where we could rep away and there was no limit.....maybe she will do it again after your day at Disney.....just for you
