Default Wanting to PCS...is this normal?

I swear with everything going on in our lives right now such as hubby retiring and having a senior in HS and at the same time getting college applications out for him, it's hard to tell if what I'm feeling is normal or really just wanting to get away from the craziness.

We're used to moving every 2-3 years. We've been here for 3 years now and with hubby retiring in January, we're pretty sure we're staying put here at least for now. He accepted a tentative job offer to start in October since he doesn't go on terminal leave until mid September. He hasn't completely closed out the book on his job search because who knows what else is out there. My kids and I have the "where are we moving to now?" bug eventhough we know hubby has a job here, which we are grateful for. Do any of you go or have gone through this feeling? Isn't weird that, at least for me personally, as much as I complain having to pick up and go every 2-3 years, a part of me does want to be at new place? Even my kids want to be at a new place lol

You WANT to move again? I believe you should seek help from a medical professional.

I'm so sick of packing myself that I backed out of helping another family pack - I just couldn't bear packing up a 3rd house in a year.

Want to trade places? I figured out last night that we have 3 and a possible 4 more PCS moves to make between now and 2017. I still have a hard time believing it no matter how much I map it out!

DH, DD, and I are going through it right now. Shoot, we weren't here a year when DD asked me when we were moving again. Since 2000 we have lived in 5 different states. And we've never gotten the same base/state for 2 orders in a row. Well, DH has gotten the same base for these new orders so as of right now, we'll be here til 2016 and we got here in 2009. DH put in for these orders and actively saught out orders to stay here since we bought this house. Looking back, we thought we were at the point where we wanted to settle down. But now, we realize we aren't. We want to move. But it isn't financially wise for us to do so. We wish we wouldn't have bought so we could be getting out of here.

Totally normal. As much as I hate moving, I'm not sure what I'd do with myself if I didn't keep on trucking around. I've never lived anywhere longer than six years.

Sure! As long as it's not in one of the locations I refuse to move to, why not

We were in VA for 10 years. He kept getting stuck after deployments.

I wanted to move so bad. Now we are in El Paso, and I can't wait to move again...but he is fenced right now and lots of folks say once you get here you are stuck. I can't win. LOL!
